As part of the #unknownRome initiative, promoted by the University Pastoral Ministry, there is an event dedicated to the visit of the Synagogue and the Jewish Museum, which will take place on December 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The meeting point is the Portico of Octavia, and it will be necessary to book through the link indicated on the attached poster, by the specified deadline.
The first stop will be the great Synagogue of Rome, built at the beginning of the 20th century, a symbol of resilience and hope for the Jewish community, which has experienced numerous vicissitudes over the centuries.
After visiting the Synagogue, the group will proceed to the Jewish Museum, located nearby. The museum houses a vast collection of artifacts that tell the story of the Jews in Rome, from ancient origins to the present day. Through interactive exhibits and historical documents, students will be able to explore the persecutions endured during the Fascist period, as well as the cultural and social contributions of the Jewish community to the city of Rome.
