On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, the 2nd Meeting of the Academic Community took place in the Paul VI hall, continuing the reflection on the theme "Hope Does Not Disappoint" initiated last November by five professors from the faculties of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS), inspired by questions from students.

During this occasion, the student representatives shared their interpretation of the theme, each from the perspective of their educational journey.

The theme was explored within the realm of social communication, through the recounting of a concrete experience. This was followed by a comparison with the classical world, both Latin and Greek, and the value that hope holds for the growth of the human person. The philosophical approach helped reflect on the origins of hope, even starting from those moments when it seems to falter. Finally, the discussion turned to the experience of the journey, understood as a true pilgrimage of hope. Hope is not merely an emotion, but a psychological strength that allows us to face challenges and build the future: a journey through psychology, neuroscience, and the search for meaning to rediscover the power of looking beyond.

Participants were able to share their real-time thoughts and reflections on the topics presented through the Slido platform.

After the students' contributions, sister Carmela Busia, delegate for youth ministry in the Archdiocese of Turin, and father Giorgio Garrone, rector of the archdiocesan seminary of Turin, offered their concluding reflections on the theme of hope, also in connection with the presence of the exhibition dedicated to the Holy Shroud, displayed at the university until March 23.

The students who led the meeting were: Luca Pigatto (FSC), Alessio Filippi (FSE), Alessandro Tiozzo and Simone Ripamonti (FF), Victor Barrios and Waldiak Rondon (FT), Didier Bineli and Marco Evangelista (FLCC). The moderation was entrusted to Matilde Gizzi (FSC) and Luca Valli (FSE).
