Friendly Help Desk

Let students always have the freedom to express their needs to you, to communicate their difficulties, and to freely tell you what causes them problems - Don Bosco, Letter from Rome, 1884

Through University Pastoral Ministry, a dedicated service is available to accompany and support students in their academic and personal journey: the "Friendly Help Desk"

The Friendly Help Desk is a space designed for students—a place for listening and support where they can share concerns, difficulties, or simply engage in discussions. The initiative was created to respond to students' concrete needs, providing a safe and welcoming point of reference to foster well-being and academic success.

This service is available to all UPS students, regardless of their year of study or academic path. Whether dealing with academic matters, personal challenges, or simply seeking human connection, the Friendly Help Desk is there to offer concrete support.

You can reach out directly to the designated contacts via email:

  • Francesca Romana Busnelli – Psychopedagogist and clinical psychologist. Professor at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, specializing in social pedagogy. Provides professional and academic guidance, supporting personal development and directing students to further specialized consultations. Listening – Asking – Welcoming. (busnelli@unisal.it)
  • Cristiano Ciferri – Salesian priest. After years of working in various fields (oratories, parishes, schools) within Salesian communities in Southern Italy, currently serving as a professor at UPS (FSE and FSC). • Cecilia Pilar Collazos Ugarte – Psychologist and psychotherapist. Available at the Friendly Help Desk to listen and provide dialogue on personal, academic, or professional topics. Offers a space for listening and discussion for those who wish to better understand themselves, strengthen self-esteem, improve emotional management, or navigate periods of change. (kalengay@unisal.it)
  • Slavomira Brigantova – Mentor and guide for youth and communities, inspired by Don Bosco’s approach to life, study, and faith. Available at the Friendly Help Desk for students seeking guidance in managing their time, balancing studies, commitments, aspirations, and daily uncertainties. Also provides support for those integrating into Italian and Roman culture or looking for a serene discussion about projects and ideas. Speaks Slovak, Italian, and English. (brigantova@unisal.it)

In a university setting that can be challenging and demanding, the Friendly Help Desk offers a unique opportunity to feel welcomed and supported. It is more than just a service—it is a tangible expression of closeness, solidarity, and care for others. We encourage all students of the Pontifical Salesian University to explore and take advantage of this valuable resource, designed to accompany them in their journey of growth and education.
