On July 6, the eighth edition of the Summer Course in Latin and Classical Culture began, the result of a well-established collaboration between the Faculty of Classical Letters (FLCC) at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) and the Latin Studies Center in Beijing, Latinitas Sinica. The program, which will conclude on July 31, continues to attract numerous students and young Chinese lecturers each year, particularly from Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). This year, 27 participants will be attending from China, some of whom are supported by scholarships provided by Latinitas Sinica.
The course is coordinated by Professor Michele Ferrero of the International Institute of Chinese Studies at BFSU, in synergy with the Dean of FLCC, Professor Roberto Fusco. The teaching team also includes Professor José Luiz Lima, Professor Myriam Cicala, Professor Daniele Sorba (University of Florence), Professor Li Yuting, as well as various UPS faculty members such as Pasqualetti, Cheung, and Vaschetto.
The continuing success of this summer course not only highlights the vitality of cultural dialogue between Italy and China, but also reflects the strong and enduring friendship that has united UPS with some of China's leading academic institutions for over twenty years, with BFSU at the forefront.
