1. Exploring the mystery of the divine action/grace in the sacraments, as it is celebrated, believed and thought in the Church. 2. Attaining a clearer awareness of the influx of historical factors at the level of the sacramental praxis. 3. Helping the candidates to the Presbiterate to deepening their identity and their mission as ministers of the Sacraments. 4. Hinting at the connections with/distinction from other treatises (dogmatic, spiritual, pastoral ...)
Each of the four Sacraments will be studied from these complementary points of view: biblical data; history of the praxis; magisterial teaching; theological reflection; the post-Conciliar Ordines; systematic vision. Method and Didactics: 1. The teacher’s frontal lectures will cover the biblical and dogmatic aspects (see Vorgrimler and the Rituals) integrated by an historical outline (see Martos), and a synthetic view-point (see Martinez). 2. The students: complete Martos’ historical outline, and submit a short paper as mid-term assignment. Evaluation: Class-work and homework = 25%; mid-term assignment = 25 %; final exam 50 %.
