FINALITÀ
To introduce students to the rudiments of Latin grammar, syntax and vocabulary, with a view to enabling them to read and comprehend texts in the ancient language.
ARGOMENTI
1. Introduction: Alphabet, pronunciation, grammar. 2. Cases. 3. Nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs. 4. Verbs tenses. 5. Active and passive voices. 6. Sentence structure. 7. Reading Latin texts.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to: Read and understand Latin at a basic level; see how Latin roots have been adopted in English and other modern languages; use their knowledge for praying the Latin text of the Ordinary of the Mass.
